These last couple of weeks have disappeared as quickly as the Maine fog rolls in. So much has happened since the May 19 release of Secrets & Lies, the first book in the Riley Russell Mystery Series, that I was shocked when I realized it was just 15 days ago! So, an update on all the exciting news…

Sales are going great, especially in light of the fact that the only marketing I’ve done so far has been (a) a Goodreads Giveaway and (b) social media posts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.

Sherman’s “back in the day”

Maine’s oldest book store, Sherman’s–which has been in existence since 1886!–will be carrying my book in all eight of its stores along the coast of Maine. They’ve already placed their order, and copies should be gracing their shelves soon!

Bar Harbor’s historic Jesup Memorial Library has scheduled a virtual author talk with yours truly, happening Thursday, July 29, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. So no matter where you are, you can reserve a space on our Zoom event here.* I’m also working on scheduling events with other libraries and book stores, so stay tuned as things develop.

Secrets & Lies has been added to the Jesup’s collection, and I’m working with other libraries to get the book into their collections, as well.

Reviews are starting to trickle in as readers finish the book. I’m basking in the glow of a solid five-star rating because I know it can’t last. It’s like batting 1.000 after getting a hit in the first game of baseball season. 😄

And last but not least, I’m making great headway on Book #2 in the series (as yet unnamed…not even a working title!). I should have a solid first draft finished in the next 6-8 weeks, and publication date is tentatively scheduled for early December–just in time for gift-giving (for yourself or others)!
